While the history of TPO roofing isn't pretty. The earliest versions of thermoplastic olefin roofing were made quickly and by companies that were looking to make a buck instead of a good product. This led to several highly visible failures of the product in a short period of time. Unfortunately, this tarnished the reputation of TPO products.
Since that time, both Metacrylics and GenFlex TPO membrane have been developed. These two products exceed every standard for commercial flat roofing in the State of California. More than that, they are the only two types of roofing that we personally approve of. GenFlex TPO is manufactured to strict standards that include a 12 foot wide maximum sheet width. This material is heat resistant, cold resistant and water proof. Our certified installers can install it quickly with either their peel and stick membrane or heat application membrane. If there is every a problem with a tear in the fabric, it can be easily repaired with a quick cut and replacement.
Metacrylics is one of the newest products on the market. It was developed as a covering for existing roofing systems and, although it is primarily used on flat surfaces, it can be installed anywhere. Metacrylics is a watertight blanket of acrylic materials and polyester fabric. It is resistant to extreme temperatures, high winds, thermoshock, earthquakes and salt spray. It is our choice product for commercial installations as well as for high traffic areas on the ground.
